Hey,

I've not noticed the use of the MyBB prefixes and I have a suggestion which could utilize this feature and also make it easier to browse the forums.

Currently there are multiple forums for each catagory including some empty ones and some with a small number of posts. Instead of having a catagory for each console you could change each catagory into a single forum and inside that forum use prefixes. So for example the ps3 homebrew posst would be inside the ps3 forum and they would have the prefix Homebrew to identify them.

This would allow you to remove the tabs which don't fit with the theme at all and don't work on all browsers. It would also stop forums looking empty if there's 1000 posts in total rather than 0 in one section and 400 in another.

Thoughts?

It's an interesting idea... I personally like the way the site is set up now even if it does make some forums look empty because IMHO it makes it easier to find homebrews and news posts. But I'd like to see what other people think of this idea...

And BTW the forum tabs are updated so they fit better AND change color according to the theme's color. You might have to refresh or log out, or... clear your cache to see them. They look like this now:

Then you could make the prefix's like...

And the way you have it set up it'd eliminate the tabs all together correct?

Yes that's exactly my suggestion. obviously you could have two installations of the theme, one with tabs and one without, if you wanted. This way you could have each category in a tab.

I agree with Clarkie, tabs make forum look unprofessional, specially when they don't work on certain browsers and/or if user has javascript turned off.

And two installations of the theme is a great idea as well, so that you let the users choose; keep tabs or remove them ;)

It's simple to do. Install the theme a second time (it can use the same images) and simply remove the tabs from the templates. Just make sure the tabs aren't on the mobile theme.

The new tabs look better than the old ones though.

I know how to install a second version, but I don't have access to this particular theme, because it's paid one by NanoSkinners and I don't own it - WTGP does. If WTGP installs the second one I'll make sure to make everything as we're planning here (if WTGP agrees of course)

Before you move threads add their prefixes. Otherwise you won't know which prefixes to give them.
